For those of you who are into spinning, this post has all the info you’ll need if you’re thinking about joining Team Vegan Yarn.
Spinzilla is a one week spinning competition in which spinners of all ages and abilities try to produce as much yarn as possible. Spin time begins at 12:01a.m. Monday, October 6 and ends at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, regardless of your time zone. Its a great way to challenge yourself, and get involved with the spinning community. Many team members have told me they’ll be using their Spinzilla week to work on techniques they’ve been wanting to improve. This is a great idea! Spinzilla is an excellent time to get comfortable with newish techniques, or brush up on old ones. I recommend practising a bit beforehand so it doesn’t get too frustrating though.
Team Vegan Yarn spinners are encouraged to spin with vegan-friendly fibres, but are welcome to spin with whatever fibre they choose.
Participants can register from August 4- September 22.
To join the team, email me at email@example.com and I’ll make sure you’re on the list. Then when registration opens, I’ll send you an email to let you know its time to register, and a link of where to go to. Registration costs $10, which you’ll be charged by TNNA when you register.
For those of you who are local, I’ll be hosting some spin-ins during Spinzilla week, so you can join us in person and we can work on building our yardage together! I’ll be emailing participants about the spin-ins closer to the week.
As an extra perk, Team Vegan Yarn members will get a wholesale rate on any fibre purchased at www.veganyarn.com for use during Spinzilla!
